Instructions for Motorola phones
(If you have a Nokia ZoneTag client, see instructions here)

The Motorola ZoneTag client is developed by Motorola Labs Applications Research team using Yahoo! Research Berkeley's ZoneTag APIs.

Running ZoneTag for the first time

1. Under "Games and Apps", highlight ZoneTag and press the softkey for 'Select'.

2. When prompted, enter your 8 digit ZoneTag authorization code. Press the center button on the text field to start entering.

3. To use ZoneTag, just exit the application and start taking photos in your camera application.

Using ZoneTag to upload photos

1. Take a photo in the camera application on the phone. Make sure to store the photo.

2. Start the ZoneTag application. You will be prompted to upload photos you have captured in the last 10 minutes. Choose 'Yes' by pressing the right softkey.

3. You will be prompted to upload each image. Select "Yes" to continue with the upload process.

Uploading photos from memory

1. To upload photos not taken in the last 10 minutes, choose "Upload from Memory" from the main menu. Select 'Phone' or 'SD' to see a list of photos from that memory. Select the photo to upload and you will go through the same steps to upload the photo.

Note: These photos will not have cell tags, but you can still apply location tags (City, State, Zip, Country).

Upload options

1. If ZoneTag knows your location, you will be prompted to apply location tags. Press the right softkey to apply these tags.

If ZoneTag doesn't know your location, or the location is wrong, you can use 'Edit' location screen to modify the location.

You can also hide your location by choosing "No" under the menu.

2. Next, you'll see a list of suggested tags based on your location. Scroll to the tags you want and select them by pressing the center button.

To add a new tag, press the center button on the text field at the top of the screen and type in your tag. Then press "Add Tag" to add it to the list of selected tags.

You can also filter the tag list by categories. Click on "Categories" to see a shorter list of tags in categories like Local, Recent, Events, Eats and Venues.

When you have selected all of the tags you want to select press "Done."

3. Finally, choose the default visibility of your image on Flickr. These groups correspond to the network you have created on Flickr.

View photos

1. Select "View ZoneTagged Photos" from the ZoneTag menu. You can choose to view by location, Flickr user name, or tags of places around you.

2. If viewing by location, you will see the current zip code and city (if known). You can also choose to search by another city or zip code.

3. After choosing a location, you can choose whose photos you want to see.

4. Press center button to select a picture to view it full-screen.
